Ohio College Refused To Excuse Students Who Skipped To Protest Trump
Millennial anti-Trumpers decided to skip classes to protest against the president-elect Donald Trump, and they just received some negative news. Just when we thought common sense was dead THIS college campus proved us wrong.
Oberlin College, located in Ohio has refusing to excuse students who decided they would rather protest the results of the presidential election rejecting their school responsibilities. Because they skipped exams and classes for what they believe to be a noble cause, they’re outraged to hear the college doesn’t share the same point of view they do. Oberlin students who skipped will receive failing grades for the assignments missed.
Liberal students have put forth a petition to demand the college institutes a designated time in which students may, without fear of receiving bad grades, reject their responsibilities to protest. They’re calling this period the “no-fail mercy period”. The petition has already gained 1,300 signatures according to recent reports.
In the slight chance the college would accept the demands, all penalties would be removed from their academic record.
The president of Oberlin College, Marvin Krislov, responded to the petition informing the students the institution’s deans have decided to reject their demand reasoning that such a period would not be fair to the students who take their responsibilities seriously.
“We are in firm agreement that suspending grading protocols is not the way to achieve our shared goal of ensuring that students have every opportunity and resource to succeed,” Krislov said. “To reiterate: we are firmly committed to supporting students in their health, well-being, and academic success.”
Isn’t this ludicrous? This generation is unbelievable! These millennials feel as if they’re ENTITLED to reject their responsibilities as a student to protest whenever they want. Nice try, kids. That’s not the way the world works.
